I will discuss two topics. The first is mitotic checkpoint signaling, taking advantage of a technique that we developed for rapidly recruiting checkpoint proteins to kinetochores by chemically-induced dimerization. The second is biased chromosome segregation in meiosis, also known as meiotic drive, which has fascinating implications for chromosome evolution.
