Research Interests
Human genetics of oral and dental diseases including tooth decay (dental caries), dental fluorisis, periodontitis, cleft lip and palate, missing teeth and other dental structural annomalies, oral cancer, nasopharyngeal carcinoma; orofacial pain and postamputation limb pain, pain pharmacogenomics; genetic basis of efficacy and side effects of pain medications; genetics of differences in susceptibility to health effects of air pollution; bioinformatics including for SNP arrays and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), statistical genetics and genetic epidemiiology.
Clinical or Educational Responsibilities
No clinical services. Lecture to dental students and residents on genetics.
